For some people, the essentials are enough. You may already own a property in Portugal, have somewhere to stay, be joining family, or simply want help getting your NIF and bank account sorted before you move forward. For others, accommodation is still a major part of the puzzle, and rental search support is needed too.

Our DIY Portugal Packages have been created for people who want to stay in control of their own move, but would like trusted help with the practical relocation foundations that often slow everything down.

This is practical relocation support, not immigration advice.

We do not advise on visa eligibility, prepare immigration applications, complete visa forms, review immigration documents, or act as immigration consultants. Instead, we help with the practical steps around your move to Portugal, so that you can continue managing your own application, or work with your chosen immigration professional, with more confidence and less confusion.

The Essentials Package is designed for people from the UK or EU who do not need accommodation support, but would like help with the early practical foundations.

This package may suit you if you already own a property in Portugal, already have somewhere to stay, are joining family or friends, or simply want to get the basic admin steps in place before your move.

DIY Portugal Relocation Package

The Relocation Package is designed for people who want the essentials, plus support with the rental search process.

This package may suit you if you are arranging your move from abroad and need help understanding the rental market, planning your search, and approaching the accommodation side more realistically.

What is included

Portuguese NIF support

Your NIF is your Portuguese tax identification number, and it is one of the first practical steps many people need when preparing to move to Portugal. It may be needed for opening a bank account, signing contracts, arranging services, buying property, and many of the everyday administrative tasks that come with life in Portugal.

As part of your package, we assist with the NIF process and help you understand what is needed, what to expect, and how this step fits into your wider relocation planning.

Portuguese bank account support

Opening a Portuguese bank account can be one of the most important early steps in your relocation journey. It may be needed for rental arrangements, payments, services, property matters and general planning before your move.

Your package includes support with the Portuguese bank account process, helping you understand the practical requirements and guiding you through the steps involved. Where remote opening is available and suitable, we can assist with that process so you can begin putting your financial foundations in place before arriving in Portugal.

General relocation coaching call

Your package includes a general relocation coaching call with us. This is a practical conversation where you can ask general questions about moving to Portugal, timelines, areas, everyday life, planning your move, and what life here may realistically look like.

The coaching call is not an immigration consultation. We will not assess your visa eligibility, advise which visa you should apply for, prepare your application, or review immigration documents. The call is designed to help with general relocation planning and the practical questions that often come up when Portugal starts to move from “one day” to “we are actually doing this”.

Think of it as a calm planning conversation with people who live in Portugal, have made the move themselves, and now support others with the practical realities of doing the same.

Rental search support

Rental search support is included in the DIY Portugal Relocation Package only. It is not included in the DIY Portugal Essentials Package.

Finding a rental in Portugal can be more complicated than people expect, especially when searching from abroad. The market moves quickly, agents do not always reply, landlords may have different expectations, and it can be difficult to know whether a property will meet your practical needs.

Our rental search support is designed to help you approach this part of your move more clearly. We help you understand the rental market, discuss your needs and budget, and support you with the early stages of your property search.

This does not mean we can guarantee a particular property, landlord approval, or lease terms. Rental availability depends on the market, your location, your requirements, your budget and the landlord’s final decision. What we do provide is practical guidance, local understanding and support to help you approach the search more realistically.

Who these packages are for

These packages are ideal if you are confident doing your own research and managing your own visa or residency journey, but would like support with the practical arrangements that are often difficult to organise from outside Portugal.

You may already know which visa or residency route you plan to take. You may already be working with a lawyer or immigration specialist. Or you may simply prefer to handle the process yourself, while having experienced people on hand to help with the practical parts that sit around the move.

The Essentials Package is best if you do not need accommodation support.

The Relocation Package is best if you also want help with rental search planning.

Both packages are lighter-touch options for independent movers who do not need a full relocation service, but do not want to feel completely alone with the practical details.

What is not included

These packages are not immigration advice services.

We do not advise on which visa or residency route is right for you. We do not assess whether you qualify for a visa. We do not complete, prepare or review visa applications. We do not tell you which immigration documents will be accepted. We do not liaise with immigration authorities on your behalf, and we do not act as immigration consultants.

If you need immigration advice, we strongly recommend that you speak with a qualified immigration lawyer or regulated immigration professional. If you decide you would like additional support with your immigration process, we may be able to refer you to a trusted immigration specialist.

These packages also do not include full relocation management, accompanied property viewings, legal review of a lease, utility connection, school search, area scouting days, or ongoing unlimited support unless separately agreed. If you need a more hands-on service, we can discuss whether one of our fuller relocation packages would be a better fit.

Not everyone needs a full relocation service. Some people are organised, confident and happy to manage the main process themselves, but still want help with the practical pieces that can be awkward, time-consuming or difficult to arrange from abroad.

Our DIY Portugal Packages give you support with the foundations without taking over your move. You remain in control of your own journey, your own decisions and your own immigration process, while having practical help where it can make the biggest difference.

They are designed to give you enough support to feel steadier, without paying for a level of service you do not need.

Choose the DIY Portugal Essentials Package if you already have accommodation arranged, do not need help with the rental search, or simply want support with NIF, bank account and a general planning call.

Choose the DIY Portugal Relocation Package if you also want support with rental search planning and understanding the rental market.

If you want someone to guide you through your immigration process, tell you which visa to choose, check your application, or manage every part of your move, these packages are not the right fit. In that case, you may need an immigration specialist, a fuller relocation service, or both.
