Who we are and what we do
We are Gary and Shelley, the creators of the YouTube channel Change of Plan, where we share our experience of moving to Portugal and what life here is really like.
We moved to Portugal full-time in 2023 after buying our home two years earlier. Like many people planning from abroad, we found the process far more complex than expected, from unresponsive agents to a lack of clear, practical support.
That experience led us to create Your Casa Key. Our aim was simple: to provide honest, grounded relocation support that helps others avoid the confusion we experienced.
We live in Central Portugal, with our main hub in Coimbra, alongside our two dogs, Teo and Lana. When we are not working, Gary is usually exploring the mountains by motorbike, while Shelley brings her creative background and love of interiors into everything we do.
